Make LV distribution visible, traceable and controllable

For digital upgrades to LV distribution, Massivene provides new and existing circuits with measurement, status sensing, protection, communications and control through intelligent sensing and control terminals. Transformer-service-area terminals or communications gateways connect the circuits to an Energy Management System for condition monitoring, alarms, fault location and remote O&M. Massivene can support platform development, system integration and ongoing O&M according to project needs.

1.LV Distribution Challenges

Limited Operating Visibility

Conventional LV switches often lack accurate measurement and communications, making outages, undervoltage, overload and temperature rise difficult to detect in time.

Difficult Fault Location

LV networks have many branches and devices. Fault response often depends on manual step-by-step checks, slowing restoration.

O&M Dependent on Site Visits

Inspections, parameter reading, protection-setting changes and fault handling require personnel on site, making refined management of large numbers of end devices difficult.

2.Solution

Massivene deploys intelligent sensing and control terminals on LV incomers, feeders, branch boxes and end circuits in transformer service areas. They collect voltage, current, power, energy, temperature and breaker status and provide protection, communications and control suited to each circuit and existing equipment.

New or replacement circuits can use Massivene Smart MCCBs with measurement, protection, communications and control. Existing conventional LV switches can be upgraded with external Massivene Smart Line Terminal Units while retaining the original equipment.

Field terminals connect to the customer’s or a third party’s transformer-service-area terminals and communications gateways through HPLC, RS-485 or Bluetooth, then connect to the Energy Management System through Ethernet or 4G/5G for data upload, alarm reporting, command delivery, parameter configuration and remote control.

The Energy Management System can provide central status displays, alarms, fault location and remote O&M according to project requirements. Massivene can support platform development, interface integration and ongoing O&M for digital LV distribution.

3.Applications

Transformer-Service-Area LV Switchboards

For LV incomers, feeders and branch circuits, configure terminals to match site equipment, monitor electrical parameters and breaker status in real time, identify outages, overload, temperature rise and voltage abnormalities, and manage transformer-service-area operation centrally.

LV Branch Boxes

For branch-box incomers and outgoing circuits, configure new-build, retrofit and existing equipment for circuit protection, measurement, status sensing, communications and control, improving online monitoring and fault location.

Meter Boxes and End Circuits

For meter-box incomers, customer main circuits and critical-load circuits, configure terminals by circuit type and digitalisation needs to collect end-circuit data for outage sensing, undervoltage monitoring, load analysis and circuit management.
